Raymond & I celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary on June 7. Wow, where have 8 years gone? Where have our babies gone? Kara is a rising first-grader who just completed two weeks of swimming lessons. She is now swimming on her own! Kailey is growing like a weed. She is saying many new words & copying her big sister all the time. She'll be two years old in less than two months. Time flies when you're having fun!
I am now officially a stay-at-home-mom again. The money wasn't worth the stress on me or the kids. Kailey was getting sick all the time, and my school work was suffering. It all came to a head on my anniversary, and I resigned. I am thrilled to be raising my kids again full time, and concentrating on school.
Kara's swimming lessons were M-Th, June 6-16. She knew nothing about floating or swimming when she started. The first week, they practiced blowing bubbles, bobbing up and down, kicking, and "swimming" with the teacher. Then, Monday of week 2, Kara tried to swim to her teacher. She got braver about putting her head under water. Tuesday, we went to the water park, and Kara practiced floating on her tummy. After she was confident, she started to float all by herself, and then she started swimming! That night, her teacher Miss Emily was very impressed. Kara has been swimming like a fish ever since, and three days later she graduated to level two. We'll have more lessons in a few weeks.
Above, she is floating with her "starfish arms & legs." Below, she is swimming with her "superwoman hands."
Granddaddy's birthday was last week, and Kailey, Kara, and Cody helped him open his gifts. What a wonderful birthday!
