The girls helped decorate our Christmas tree as well as our manger scene.
The girls at home before Kara's play.
Kara is a sheep in this year's Christmas play. She is to the right of the manger, the second sheep by the person in the blue on the right. Her hands are over her face while she's trying to spot us in the crowd. This was the first year her class performed an actual play. In K4 and K5, they dressed up and sang songs. This year she was a sheep and I made her headpiece and tail. My girl is growing up!
Kara is on the bottom left of this close-up.
Kailey cheers on her big sister. "A Rara go?"
Kailey is ready for a day on the town.
We decorated our house for Christmas on Thanksgiving weekend this year, adding three Christmas trees and our old Angel I was able to salvage from the garage. (She's missing her base, but she looks good next to the trees). I used the flash on the first picture and no flash on the second...you get the idea. We have icicles (about 4 years old) around the top, white lights around the garage and in the bushes, holly garland and red/green lights along the porch, and a multi-colored wreath on the door. I love Christmas!!!
One cold day in December Kailey decided to pose by our lights. Isn't she cute!!
December 16, 2005--Kara's 1st grade class went on an outreach trip to the Summerville Fire Station. They brought treats for and sang songs to the firefighters.
Mommy and Daddy drove some of the kids to the firehouse. This is also Kara's last day of school before Christmas break, so we also stayed for the party at lunch.
~JAMES ISLAND HOLIDAY FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS~
New Year's Eve 2005 ~ Our family took in the beautiful light displays at James Island County Park's annual Holiday Festival of Lights. Kara again climbed the rock wall (see last year's trip here.) The girls loved roasting marshmellows, and Kailey adored the 'horhees.' We love this Christmas tradition!
All finished. Kailey rides her horhee with her new 'do!
Kailey got her very first haircut at age 2 after Christmas this year. Oma cut off some uneven baby hair to give Kailey a cute bob. What a charmer! She wasn't bothered at all by her first haircut!
